This past weekend LCC hosted the prestigious STUBB WEBB MEMBER/GUEST TOURNAMENT with 40 teams involved and guests coming in as far as Florida , Canada, PA,and Las Vegas.   A great turnout and some great play .

Day #1 saw the team of George Gagnier/Jose Agosto  and Dana Leonard/Sam LaDuca tied for the lead with both teams coming in on the first day with a best ball at -11.

Day #2 was points day with both players playing their own ball for points.   A late charge by the teams of Jim Webb/Doug Zornow and Tom Burke/Jim Meyer could not rattle the team of Dana Leonard/Sam LaDuca who held on and captured the crown of this years 2010 MEMBER/GUEST CHAMPIONS.  Which was well deserved after both players played for many years together trying to capture their first crown. CONGRATULATIONS DANA AND SAM, 

The awards banquet was sat. night with about 120 people attending and Craig and his staff did an excellent job, serving a delicious prime rib dinner.  Jeff, our pro followed up with the awards ceremonies. with BOB’S BROTHERS BAND  ending the evening providing some very good music and dancing.

A big thanks goes out to the 40 teams who participated , Jeff Kaye, our pro, Brain our greens superintendent, and Craig and his staff at the Nines and our Social Committee, for assisting and making this tournament as successful as it was.

The TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS was played this past Sunday with 35 players who previously won a tournament from the last 2 years.   It was a beautiful day to be out on the course and a great time to see some of the activities from the air show.  Jim Hunt was this year’s champion in the Men’s division posting a 75 and netting +46pts.   And in the Women’s division Denise Pearston shot a 95 with +41pts.  Good shooting Jim and Denise.

On Wed.the one day member/member tournament was played in sweltering heat with a field of 32 teams braving the heat.  Which played a part on some of the teams coming down the stretch.  But the duo of Jim Hunt and Dan Gleason teed off early and carded a best ball of 59 and held off the rest of the field to win the tournament.
