We are pleased to announce that LCC has another new member. Terry Freeman won an LCC membership at the BZ tournament several weeks ago. Terry has two children who like to golf and has converted his free single membership in to a family membership. Terry’s email address is free81ham@yahoo.com (another neat mail address). We are glad to add the Freeman clan from Avon (there are tons of Freeman’s in Avon!). Please take a minute to welcome Terry and his son Graham and daughter Maureen to the LCC family. OLDIES WIN !!!!!!! OLDIES WIN !!!!!!!!!!

In dramatic fashion the Oldies won back the cup beating the Youngies in a playoff. Thirty-two Youngies went up against thirty-two Oldies in a day that saw the wind play a major role in affecting many shots. Four of the bravest Oldies went up against an equal number of stalwart Youngies in a playoff which only took one hole to decide. Kris Johnston was the hero for the Oldies lacing her drive on the first playoff hole down the middle and then putting her approach shot on the green putting pressure on the Youngies from which they could not recover. Eventually Kris’ putt was conceded which gave her a 5 to a 4 and a Oldies victory. Thanks to all 64 members who braved the elements and a special thanks to Doug Welch who chaired the event.

Congratulations to Dan Beirkirch who had a hole in one last Wed. on hole #15. This could hold up to be the only hole in one ever to happen on this hole. Good job Dan and thanks for the beer.

LADIES PRESIDENT”S CUP

Jill Barnard has claimed this year’s 2010 Ladies President’s Cup Championship with a victory over Denise Pearston. Good job Jill.

Congratulations to LCC member Tom Burke who has his 1st ever hole in one, Sunday August 22d, on hole #13 using a 8 iron. But what was equally exciting for Tom besides having his first hole in one in 35 years of playing golf was having his 9 year old son Gavin proudly witnessing the feat. For that moment in Gavin’s eyes Tom was, THE MAN. on the golf course. Good job Tom that will be a moment in both of you won’t forget.

Chances and Changes Golf Tournament coming to Livingston

The annual Chances and Changes golf tournament is moving to LCC from Caledonia. They are hoping the move to a much better course will result in a high turnout and lots of support. They certainly have made a wise move. This is an another important charity tournament that is now being played at our course so consider participating if you can. The tournament will be on September 14. Here is a link to the brochure and signup form.

The MEMBER/GUEST TOURNAMENT this Friday and Saturday. If you can’t play in the tournament come to the awards banquet this year. Our social committee has a band playing and everyone is welcome to come If you would like. Dinner (social hour 5:00 – 6;30 and dinner at 6:30 with awards immediately following and the band playing from 8:30 to 11;00). Please contact Craig at THE NINES . Cost for dinner is $25.00/person includes prime rib, 2 sides, dessert ,tax and tip.
